The company

The company STIB is a modern company which places the customer at the heart of its concerns. As the biggest employer in the BrusselsCapital Region, STIB has over 7,000 staff, including 3,000 drivers. This skilled team works together each day to transport you all around the city.

The network

Placed end to end, the STIB lines cover some 700 km, including:

  • 40 km of metro lines 
  • 139 km of tram lines
  • 445 km of bus lines

The metro alone carries almost 38% of all STIB customers. The tram network transports 35% of customers compared with 27% for the bus network. Over 2,200 stops distributed over the entire Brussels-Capital Region and its outskirts are served by STIB.

Since April 2007, STIB has operated a night bus network: Noctis. On Friday and Saturday nights, 11 bus lines run from 12.20 to 3 in the morning. They set off from the heart of Brussels out to the extremities of the Brussels-Capital Region. A circular line connects all the lines together. The Noctis network is aimed at locals who want to stay out a bit later at night without worrying about getting home, at tourists and other visitors but also at night workers.
