Parents and children
You can obviously get on our vehicles with a pushchair. Here are the public transport police regulations:
- Foldable pushchair can be transported free of charge if there is enough room. It needs to be folded out of respect for your fellow travellers when the vehicle is crowded;
- If the pushchair is not foldable, you must have an additional ticket for it.
Beyond these official regulations, keep in mind that space on our vehicles is not unlimited. If there are several pushchairs already on board, do not try to enter with yours. When you are in a vehicle with your pushchair, stand to the side, so that other users can pass through. Some platforms are designed to accommodate pushchairs.
On our older trams (those with steps) you can board with your pushchair:
- if it has a maximal width of 55 cm,
- through the left side of the doors at the front of the vehicle (or the right side if you are on the central platform).
Under 6 years of age
For them it's really easy. «Maximum 4 children per adult travel for free» is the principle. Every child under six can travel for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. Each additional child pays for the journey.
Children between 6 and 11 years of age
Children aged 6-11 can travel for free at any time on the entire STIB network (except between NATO-Brussels Airport of lines 12 and 21) with the J-ticket. You only pay a refundable deposit of 5 euro for the MOBIB-pass.
Your child is celebrating its twelfth birthday?
Then our school ticket is the ideal solution.
