Metro

The metros run from the east to the west of Brussels. They have a very large capacity and run entirely in exclusive lanes, which avoids any risk of traffic jams. The current fleet has 5 series, and the oldest carriages date back to 1976, the year the metro was first opened in Brussels. The latest series, known as the "boa", have been put into service at the beginning of the new school year of September 2007.
